A two color illustration of an old radio with two knobs and a dial in red and black surrounded in a red halftone pattern. The dial goes back and forth when hovered.

Room Seven

I wanted a site specifically for my photography, so I built Room Seven. What or where is Room Seven? Yes, it is.

I built the site with Astro and developed a workflow that takes a DNG file and extracts its metadata into Markdown frontmatter. I specifically wanted a way to pull in the alt text I’ve written for my photographs in Lightroom, along with titles, locations, camera, lens, and more. That inspired me to start building a dedicated tool for converting DNG metadata to Markdown: dng-to-md.

Screenshot of a web site with Room Seven in the upper left corner and a navigation to the right of it. In the middle-right is a large headline, The Photography of S.R. Wild. There’s an image that fills the screen of a yellow tinted photography looking across a field, bisected by a road with telephone poles that disappear into the fog.
