Snow Day!
This morning I awoke to the familiar sound of a plow scrapping snow. “Sounds like a couple inches,” I thought to myself — well, I would have if I could determine such a thing by the sound. A few minutes later I was further awakened by the unfamiliar sound of my phone ringing. I rarely get phone calls, especially at 7 o’-freakin’-clock in the morning. “Must be someone from work or something bad happened,” I said to myself as I crawled out of bed to find the phone. Luckily, it was my boss. He told me to come in when I could and that we’d get out early before the snow gets worse. It didn’t really affect me because I walk to work. I did my morning routine, put on my snow tires (my boots made from recycled tires), and headed out. I arrived around the usual time, worked on a few hot items, and left early in the afternoon.
Ah yes, the white stuff is here. I have a good feeling about this winter: lots of snow and not too cold. This is going to be the first winter that I don’t have to deal with driving in the snow to get to work and I’m tickled pink about it.
