I'm Still Alive

I see it’s been quite some time since I posted something on this damn blog. According to my calculations it’s been almost two months. Where have I been? Jail? A mental institution? Dead? In a coma? I’m sorry, I can’t tell you because it’s classified. All I can say is a lot has changed recently, which is a very good thing. My world has been turned inside out and upside down.

Here are some pictures from my mobile phone.

I’ll write more later — in a month or two.

Gleaning Joker

playing cards, paper, an metal I gleaned from the ground

While most people out this evening were doing something involving alcohol, I took a long walk to think, glean, and take photographs. I mostly walked around the South End because I like the buildings there, especially at night — everything is better at night. If I were to move, I’d move to the South End.

Pictured above is the small haul I gleaned. Walking down Pine St. (I think) I saw a joker on the sidewalk, a joker in the grass, an ace of hearts in the dirt, two jokers further up, and so on until I picked up five jokers and three aces. It’s appropriate I should find these because I’ve been thinking about cards: whether something is or isn’t in the cards and when I had my cards read a few months ago everything I was told is turning out to be true. In regards to the latter, I don’t usually believe in such things. A few years ago a Wiccan read my palm and what she said would happen really did happen. Perhaps I’ve just been lucky. Besides, I don’t want to know my future, I prefer to be surprised.

I snapped photos too.

Baby on Ground

Photo Found on Elmwood Ave., Burlington, VT

Walking home from work today, I found a baby picture on the ground near the corner of Elmwood Ave. and Pearl St. This is the second baby picture I’ve found there! It’s odd — not as odd as some guy putting a picture of baby he doesn’t know on his blog.

My theory is it’s near where people park when they go to the post office, many of them are opening mail or putting things in and taking things out of a purse, backpack, or wallet, so the chances of someone dropping something are high. Plus, the wind coming off of Lake Champlain blows down Pearl St. so there is a good chance of something being blown out of someones’ hands. My chances of finding these things are high because I walk by that spot at least four times a day.

I also have a paranoid theory that someone I know or a reader of this blog is planting photos for me to find. The route I walk everyday and my proclivity to pick up things off of the ground are well-known and well-documented on this site.
