Cecile Starr is returning as guest curator of Secret Movie Night tomorrow night:

Tomorrow at Secret Movie Night we’ve got another special program with Cecile Starr. The program will feature various experimental animators of the 20th century, including Lotte Reiniger, Hans Richer, Alexandre Alexeieff, Mary Ellen Bute, Len Lye and Kathy Rose. We’ll explore the relationship between animation and other disciplines (graphic arts, sculpture, music, illustration, painting and dance).

Don’t miss out. Bring your friends.

Tuesday, July 10 @ 8pm | $3
Studio STK | 12 North St

If you who missed Cecile Starr’s Women Behind the Camera last month, now is your chance to redeem yourself.

I saw this Yeah Yeah Yeahs video at Secret Movie Night last night…

You need a flash player to see this movie.

... White Stripes, directed by my hero Michel Gondry…

... and finally, here’s the trailer for Sex Life of Robots that I’ve been telling everyone about…

I working on building some characters right now for my own stop motion experiment, but I need more doll parts. Also, this weekend I may be acting in a short film.

Earlier this evening I checked out “Secret Movie Night’ at Studio STK. It’s a “noncompetitive forum for imaginative, experimental, subversive, low-budget independent film from Burlington and beyond.” Basically, they show a bunch of cool short videos. I saw a public service announcement where Mr. T. tells you “to be somebody”, Crispin Glover whacked out on David Letterman, and some short films.

Unfortunately, the videos were jittery and the audio was about ten seconds out of sink with the video, so I left after about fifteen minutes. It was funny during one video, all this yelling and gunfire could be heard but the two guys were driving around listening to the radio. Hopefully they’ll fix their technical problems because it’s a cool idea, and there’s popcorn!

Another, one of the videos was a Don Hertzfeldt animation. I forgot about his work and this video.
